Breathless in Wonder in Colorado – FGF Highlights, Fort Collins, CO

Have you ever been to Colorado in the fall? This past weekend, the Centennial State was crisp and cool and beautiful. Oh, girl, it was a wonderful place for our most recent Fresh Grounded Faith women’s event!

Phil and I went in a day early so we could visit some of the local attractions. We started with Estes Park where we rode in a surrey carriage (yes, with fringe on top) and then ate at Penelope’s—what amazing burgers!

Then we went to Rocky Mountain National Park where we saw herds of elk. They were quite expressive! The males were even bugling. Ever heard of it? If not, it’s the way they get the ladies’ attention!

And, finally, we went to Boulder and toured the Celestial Seasonings tea factory. It was fascinating, fragrant, and fantastic!

When FGF finally started, I was so excited, but out of breath! The thin air up there made me sound like I had just run a marathon. So, I gasped my way through the conference and taught how to be unshakeable in Christ.

Author Karen Kingsbury brought down the house with her great stories and insights. And, when she read from her book, Let Me Hold You Longer, every woman there wished they were wearing waterproof mascara.

Michael O’Brien was hilarious and wise. He led us to the throne and brought us to heights of worship.

I’d say we truly had a “Great Girlfriend” blend this weekend in Fort Collins!

A big thanks to Local Conference Coordinator Stephanie Wiedeman and all of the sweet volunteers who made us feel so loved! We are so very grateful to Timberline Church and the co-host churches for welcoming us and making us feel at home.

God was with us and His Holy Spirit breathed life into weary souls and drew 10 women to new life in Him. We also celebrated 69 women who chose to renew their commitment to Christ and 56 children sponsored through Compassion International.

So, while I may have started out breathless from the altitude, now I am breathless in wonder of God’s goodness in Colorado. Thank You, Lord!
