She came, she saw, and she was in awe! God was so good to us this weekend at Fresh Grounded Faith Springfield!

Thank you to Allen Hudson, Chuck Neely, and McKenzie Robinson for the beautiful photos. To see the entire Facebook photo album, click here. For those of you who joined the photo booth fun, you can view your photos here.

The theme was “She Can” and our verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” We learned to speak the three hope confessions of “She Can” women and the three actions of a “She Can woman.” Wow is all I can say!

I not only taught the truth of Philippians 4:13 from the stage, but we also saw it on stage in my friends, Katherine Wolf and Sheila Walsh. Katherine taught us that the good things often are the hard things, and Sheila encouraged us to invite God into all areas of our lives—including our past and our shame.

Modern hymn writers, Keith and Kristyn Getty, led us in worship. They brought their entire band with them—and even blessed us with a sweet song sung by their oldest daughter, Eliza Joy. What an amazing time of praising the Lord together!

And Shaun Groves inspired us with his storytelling. He shared about a boy named Gabriel who was born with no ears–not just an inability to hear, no ears at all. Can you even imagine? His mom had experienced so much loss and despair that she was without hope. Until Compassion International, that is! Shaun shared how Gabriel’s sponsor changed Gabriel’s life and gave him and his mom hope again. I loved it!!!

A huge thank you to our host church, Second Baptist Church, and to our 23 co-host churches. My dear friend, Paula Voris, served as our Local Conference Coordinator. I am so grateful for her and for all of the volunteers!

Our thankful hearts celebrated a sold-out conference with 2,100 registered attendees. We also praised God for 9 new sisters in Christ, 53 women who chose to renew their commitment to the Lord, and 28 children sponsored through Compassion International.

And, sister, there was such a sweet spirit the whole weekend! Of course, it was because the Lord was with us. Yet, I think it was deeper and sweeter than usual because I think there was a deeper unity than ever before.

There may have been 23 co-host churches who joined Second Baptist, but there was one heart beating all weekend. I was so humbled to be a part of something so much bigger and longer-lasting than me. I was in awe of what God did among us. Thank you, Lord.

You are part of something bigger and longer-lasting than you too. So, press into God’s big, beautiful, gospel story that He is writing in you and in our world. Be the “She Can” woman God created you to be. Trust His voice, make hope the way you get through this life, and walk by faith and soar!
