They Stepped Up and Stepped Out – FGF Highlights, West Monroe, LA

Our second spring conference, Fresh Grounded Faith West Monroe, is a wrap. What a weekend it was! The Lord drew many women to the altar to meet with Him as He ministered to their needs. It was so beautiful to see His hand at work!

There were over 100 volunteers who helped make this thing happen. Greeters, hospitality, special needs, book table volunteers … there were all sorts of women doing all sorts of jobs.

We are so very grateful to each one of them and our local conference coordinator, Rhonda Moody. Also, big thanks to our host church, First West, and the twelve co-host churches for making us feel at home!

Among our volunteers, there was one encourager who said she was afraid to step out and pray with others, but she felt like God was calling her to BE BRAVE. So, she did.

As our conference director, Terrie, was praying during the commitment time, she looked up and saw that nervous encourager ministering to a woman. As the woman left her embrace, the encourager looked over at Terrie with a smile on her face. That was a leap of faith for her. She is a SHE CAN woman!

And, that was our theme—She Can, based on Philippians 4:13.

The prayer team leader, Premie, was from India. When the volunteers gathered on Friday morning for the Prayer Walk, she and two of her team were blowing shofars. Wow! That was a first! Premie truly has the gift of prayer.

The whole weekend was such a lovely picture of the family of God—women of all ethnicities and all sorts of denominations and churches stepped out in faith and stepped up together to bring God’s Truth, comfort, and encouragement to West Monroe. Reminds me of what Heaven will be like. People from all nations and tribes worshipping together.

Michael O’Brien led us in worship and helped us laugh and celebrate. Lisa Whelchel reminded us of God’s grace and how it helps us to step out and be free. Karen Abercrombie put on her Miss Clara costume and finished Friday night with the “Raise them up, Lord!” prayer from War Room. And, I taught how we can, based on Christ’s strength, do all things … we can hope, we can trust, and we can soar!

But that’s not all! We also celebrated 3 new sisters in Christ, 32 women who chose to renew their commitment to the Lord, and 68 children sponsored through Compassion International. Thank you, Jesus, for the decisions and the tremendous response of children being rescued from poverty. All honor and power and glory to our Savior!

Sister, next we’re on to Wichita Falls, Texas. We can’t wait to see what God will do there!

Blessings,

Jennifer and the FGF Team!
