I am now convinced that it is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most able to manage hot flashes during Menopause!

For those of you who have yet experienced this gift, a hot flash feels like you’re wearing thermal underwear beneath a fur coat in July while you sit in a sauna wrapped in an electric blanket set on high eating read hots and sipping coffee as you fight with your husband about why you’re so moody. Can I get a witness?

I’ve heard my friends say that menopausal women don’t sweat, we glow. But, unfortunately, I sweat like a man, and it’s totally humiliating. There is nothing attractive about sweating eyelids and ear lobes. Seriously, a full blown hot flash has me perspiring from places I didn’t even know had pores.

I’ve also heard hot flashes called “power surges.”  Well, then, can someone please unplug me?
