Kennedy died that day in 1963. C.S. Lewis also died that day in 1963. And, in 1963, on that same day, my husband, Phil Rothschild, was born!

So, we celebrated his birthday in Bossier City along with 800 of our newest friends at Fresh Grounded Faith. The whole weekend was a celebration of God’s faithfulness.

Liz Curtis Higgs made us laugh our heads off with her humor and then tugged at our hearts with her warm and wise Bible teaching.

Karen Abercrombie spilled the beans with me Friday night and told us her story of how she became an actress and what led her to play Miss Clara in War Room. She presented a stirring monologue about Rahab and even gave us a taste of the War Room prayer. It was fantastic!

Michael O’Brien was his usual funny self, plus he led us in praise and blessed us with every song he sang.

I taught out of John 5 about the man who was stuck on his mat by the pool for years. We decided that Jesus is the way of wellness, and we all want to pick up our mats and walk away from what holds us back. We want to walk toward Him and with Him all our days.

I also gave the three hope confessions of a “She Can” Woman:

  1. It is what it is.
  2. I won’t always feel this way.
  3. Something new and better is right around the corner.

A huge thank you to our host church, Bellaire Baptist Church, and to our 12 co-host churches. Vicki Harper served as our Local Conference Coordinator. I am so grateful for her and all of the volunteers!

Our thankful hearts also celebrated 2 new sisters in Christ, 15 women who chose to renew their commitment to the Lord, and 27 children sponsored through Compassion International. Thank you, Jesus!

The place was buzzing with excitement, and we all left encouraged. Every moment was worth celebrating because God was with us every moment!
