I am so much enjoying your Bible Study on Psalm 23. I’ve studied sheep and shepherds for over 2 years. I know there are Christian books already written, but I wanted to determine by reading, actual shepherd stories, the relationship Jesus meant for us to have with Him.
I was sad to run out of books to read or borrow. Then came your book! Wow! Heaven for this lady. Reading about sheep and shepherds relaxes me, makes me smile, and makes me feel loved.
What I like about your study is the frequency of looking up Scriptures. Some studies teach a lot, but I like to “discover”. And I think it’s so important that we stay in Scriptures ourselves for growth and discernment; which also makes me love your encouragement and directions to do a little research on our own–another need I don’t see addressed.

Incredible journey through a very familiar passage of scripture. I used to view this passage as the “funeral passage” but I see it through a completely different lens. What an amazing study!! It’s an in-depth view of my role as a sheep and the promises that my Shepherd has for me.

Absolutely marvelous dive into God’s heart of how He desires to: be present, provide, care, guide, restore, direct, protect, associate with, honor His believers during this life on earth. This bible study really drew me into learning more about our God and how we should experience the valleys we go through in life. Finding joy in the times of sorrow and pain leads to a more fulfilling life. It was very uplifting to hear that our valleys do not define who we are and neither do our sins because our Shepherd takes care of everything! The bible study was easy to follow and very hands on. I highly, highly recommend this Ps 23 study! I saw it in a bookstore on Aug 23 and knew I was supposed to get it- even though I felt like I “understood and had already memorized this Psalm”! It has been my LIFELINE these last two months. During this time, my aunt passed, and eight hours after her funeral, my mom passed! We were supposed to have a wedding in our family that did not happen and the funeral for my mom was the same weekend. My mother in law was hospitalized at 95 and then went to live where my mom had been cared for well. My daughter in law had a baby 5 weeks early, was in the NICU and then the baby was in the ER with low heart rate and had turned blue! My husband’s aunt passed exactly one month later. Lots of speaking and ministry happened too.
I was literally walking in green pastures- being fed as I walked, seeing the valley of the shadow of death and sitting at the table He had prepared, as the enemy was threatening my new grandchild. I have LIVED in this Psalm and have needed it every day. I am SO GRATEFUL for the Lord teaching through Jennifer that God created us to be sheep who NEED a Shepherd. What a priceless gift. Thank you so much.

I found this the most amazing way to unpack all the wonderful verses of Psalm 23, I really started to understand all the underlying things that challenged me. Just starting the first couple of chapters I thought oh this is good but it is not taking me very deep…after that it took me very deep and I got to do some deep cleansing within my heart and soul that definitely needed to be cleansed. To be honest, Psalm 23 used to be a passage that I just browsed at on the back of many program inserts at the funerals of family and friends. I’ve known Psalm 23 my whole life but never really understood the true essence of it. When first coming into this study, I was more drawn to the illustration of taking time out of my busy life and finding rest rather than viewing myself as a vulnerable sheep and God as my Shepherd. However, this study has completely changed my viewpoint of Psalm 23 and brought me such hope and peace in knowing that God does all things for my good. I will no longer view it as a funeral passage of the “shadow of death” and remember sad times. Now, I will rejoice when I see it and read it because it reminds me of all I’ve learned from this study and how much my Shepherd cares for me. How much He wants to provide for me, protect me, and share His presence with me. Thank-You for creating PSALM 23 – “The Shepherd With Me” Bible Study. It has God’s Anointing written all over it! Your gentle and humble heart is a clear reflection of our Shepherds goodness and mercy to you and in you!
For me personally… I was going through a dark valley when I began the study. I needed healing, comfort, soul restoration for brokenness and vulnerabilities I wouldn’t face, I needed renewed confidence in the love and care of my Shepherd for me. After 7 weeks of studying Psalm 23 with Jennifer Rothschild and my Online Sisters in the LORD I can say with confidence the LORD has restored my soul, leads me in paths of righteousness, anoints my head with oil (His Holy Spirit’s Power), His rod and staff correct me which brings comfort and pulls me back to the fold in safety! My Shepherd gives me rest and peace and joy and fills me with goodness, His love and mercy! His voice is truth and not the lies of the enemy which rip at our souls.
I loved the entire study but my favourite was WEEK # 5 DAY # 4… “MY CUP RUNS OVER!” The LORD refilled me with the beautiful blessings HE has poured into my life, so full, so rich, so free to OVERFLOWING! I have abundance and best of all are the Spiritual Blessings our Great Shepherd pours into my life and soul! He has filled my life to the brim my cup is full and running onto my saucer as Jennifer states so well! My great Shepherd has filled me through this study once again to the brim, to the fullest, overflowing with fullness of joy! For those who drink of this cup rejoice in the fullness of Christ! I will never forget this study or GOD’S timing for bringing it into my life! I will review my study book often and may even do the study again someday. I will make time to listen to the Playlist of songs from the Psalm 23 Study… a beautiful list of songs for every verse in Psalm 23 and put together by Jennifer! In my kitchen window sill sits a little wooden plaque with the saying “Be so filled with JESUS you overflow!” I purchased it after doing this Study. Thank-You to our Great Shepherd for using your faithful sheep Jennifer Rothschild to create this dynamic Study that impacted the life of this sheep and countless others.

I am grateful that I have decided to participate in this study. It is the first time that I attempted on on- line study and I have been inspired by the teaching of Ps23 . As a child I learned Ps23 by heart but now I have acquired an inept knowledge of this same psalm. I have learned who my shepherd is and how he goes about taking care of me. He has chosen me, he knows my name and has anointed me as his child. I feel safe and secured knowing that he leads and guides me to peaceful pastures and quiet waters. Everything I need he provides.Daily he blesses me. His goodness and mercy follows me. I have learned that no matter what I do I cannot run away from his goodness and his loving kindness. Even when I go through difficult times in my life of which I had many my shepherd is with me. Another reassuring fact is that my shepherd has planned and prepared my future for me. My present and future is in his hands therefore I lack nothing. I have decided to follow my good shepherd all the days of my life.

What a wonderful study! I was blessed by God to lead this study as part of the Women’s Ministry in our church. For seven weeks, Jennifer walked us through Psalm 23, verse by verse and word by word. Psalm 23 was probably the first Bible verses that I memorized as a child and I have quoted it all my life. However, I never really pondered the depth and the richness of this psalm. To hear and fully understand what it means to have Jesus as my Good Shepherd, to have Him lead me to green pastures and still waters, to have my soul restored by Him and be led in the paths of righteousness, to feel His presence as I walk through the dark valleys of this life, to know that I don’t have to fear evil because He is with me all the way, to sit at His table and have my head anointed with oil, to be comforted by Him, knowing that His goodness and His mercy follow me, and then to look forward with assurance to the day when I will dwell with Him eternally is the essence of what it means to me to be called a child of God. This study truly impacted me in a profound way. As our group studied and discussed the psalm, we saw Jesus in our midst as we shared and grew closer to other women in our church. This is my 1st study of Jennifer’s, and it has become one of my favorite Bible Studies. Jennifer is so down to earth with sharing what God has laid on her heart for this Chapter in the Bible. I love the way the Word of God comes alive for us and this study brought His words to life for each woman in our study. We all heard of and had read or studied the Psalm….Jennifer brought us so much depth and the Lord used different parts of these truths to minister to each heart. This is a Must Do Bible Study!! I lead a group of women in my church through Jennifer Rothschild study Psalm23. I’ve always viewed this Psalm as a “death” psalm to comfort other. In reality we learned Sister, it is a Psalm to LIVE by!! We took a look at us as vulnerable sheep and that’s ok!! Girls, when the Lord is our Shepherd we will not be in lack!! What a joy to understand Psalm 23. We were given fresh eyes on what Shepherds do with oil and not stopping in valley’s!! But not only the study itself, what wonderful resources are provided to boost your study. It’s not just a fill in the blank, this is come, taste and see the Lord is good dig deeper kinda study to grow in. There is even a song play list for meditation time!!! Indeed the Lord is my Shepherd and praise His name I’m His little sheep!!

This was the Best bible study I did. So often we here this at memorials/funerals we recite this verse and don’t understand the true meaning, this will help you understand the true meaning of Psalm 23!! You will learn just one chapter a week. I did a online bible study through P31 and it went through a Facebook group. We had videos to watch along with it. If you have the money or can go in with a group of friends to get the study guide and video series do it! It will be so worth it!
