What Do You Do When Depression Tries to Take Over?

Spill The Beans

Dear Jennifer,

I have written to you before, but that was about two years ago.  At that time in June, I lost my eyesight in my right eye do to a blood clot going to the retina and exploding it.  They called it a main retina occlusion.  The doctors say there is nothing they can do to reconstruct it, and now my left eye is getting blurry.

I was in bed for a year and a half due to depression.  I then put the armor on more.  I listened to healing tapes and prayed with my prayer partner and best friend.  Two months ago I was getting the point…then I seemed to get knocked down again with the flu, which in turn pushed me back in bed and back into depression.  How do you do it?  You’re blind every day and yet you keep working and giving a smile with your songs and testimonies.

Love, Pam

Jennifer’s Answer:

What Can I Do to Reinforce God’s Word?

Spill The Beans
Dear Jennifer,

What can I do to reinforce God’s Word? I started your Bible study Fingerprints of God. I will do the homework and share in the study group, only to walk out of class and not be able to recall it.  I bought your book yesterday, Self Talk, Soul Talk, and I read in it exactly what happens to me–the enemy of my mind robs the seed that was sown, and then I begin to believe the word of how I will never be able to retain it. I have beaten myself up many times over this same issue.  My heart’s desire is to live out what God’s Word teaches. I clean out the closet only to realize the junk has overtaken the Word. Help!  I’m feeling defeated.

Praise Report

Thank you for praying while the Billy Graham Association was here for two days (Dec 14, 15) filming for their March television special. Two days packed full of interviews and b-roll footage. My house, and my family survived. And I felt the Lord’s presence during my interviews. Incredible producer, incredible camera man and audio technician. Continue to pray the post editing will be just as God would want it. I am so grateful for this opportunity.
