Strength Will Rise – FGF Highlights, Springfield, MO

When you feel the heaviness of 2020 weighing you down, look up sisters … strength is on the rise!

That’s the take-away truth we celebrated last weekend in Springfield, Missouri, at Fresh Grounded Faith. We gathered for two back-to-back identical events to learn from Isaiah 40 what it means to be strong.

We learned we are “Forgiven Strong” because our sins are paid for (Isaiah 40:2). We celebrated that we are “Together Strong” as we see God’s glory revealed in the company of sisters (Isaiah 40:5). And, we affirmed that no matter how we feel, we are “Word Strong” because God’s Word endures forever (Isaiah 40:8)!

Strength was on the rise at FGF Springfield as we celebrated being forgiven strong, together strong, and Word strong! [Click to Tweet]

Oh, sister, it was so good! In fact, if you missed it, you can still experience it because the live stream is available through February 6, 2021. Go here to get the skinny on how you can join us. You can grab your BFFs and pop some popcorn and enjoy it together—because together is the best way to enjoy Fresh Grounded Faith.

That’s why Liz Curtis Higgs was there making us laugh and think. She painted three hilarious and profound word pictures of women in Scripture who were made strong by Jesus. It was so, so good.

Michael O’Brien sang tunes from his latest project, Crown Him. And, guess what? He released it in March, just as the world was shutting down due to the virus. But, the cool thing is that “corona” in Latin means “crown.” Yep, let’s rebrand this Corona with the truth that we can crown Him because God is in control and He is stronger than any pandemic or election or whatever we face!

I’m grateful we were invited back to Second Baptist Church to bring FGF again. It is such a sweet place to do what God has called me to do because it is my home church in my hometown with my homegirls. And, there were five co-host churches and 100 volunteers who locked arms once again to make this thing happen. Of course, it was once again under the great leadership of Paula Voris. That woman makes me strong and I am grateful for her!

What a great way to end our very different, totally unprecedented, unpredictable, canceled, and rescheduled year of Fresh Grounded Faith. This has been the fastest, slowest, hardest, most meaningful year ever! And, I’m so thankful that God has made us strong for every moment of it.

So, if you’re worn out and weary from all things 2020, get down on your knees and call out to your strong God to be all you need. Sister, when you bow before Him, strength will rise!

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak” (Isaiah 40:29).

Blessings,

Jennifer and the FGF Team!
