Back Where It All Began – FGF Highlights

What an incredible weekend!

I can’t imagine a better way to start our Fall Fresh Grounded Faith season than with what we experienced in Waco, Texas last weekend!

Waco is near and dear to my heart because Fresh Grounded Faith began there nearly eight years ago!

It was wonderful to be welcomed back so warmly. To all of you ladies that joined us there, know that we felt the love and hope God used our time together to do a great work in your hearts!

This is what our sister Sarah said on Facebook after the Fresh Grounded Faith event in Waco, Texas. “Great conference! Next time I’m bringing my husband and getting a sitter for the kids. In 36 hours while I was gone the leather couch (that’s not yet paid for) was ruined, the only debit card we have and share was lost, the bathroom toilet overflowed and flooded the bathroom, my phone completely broke, and the 3 year old has a face as red as a lobster. #dadsarenotmoms  #Godsgraceisbigenough #gonnalaughandnotcry ”

Unfortunately, FGF is just for women, but we might make an exception for this husband because I have decided it is true… everything is bigger in Texas! The weekend was such a huge blessing to me, I am sure it would be to him too.

What a weekend!

Everything ran smoothly thanks to the local conference coordinator, Doris King, and her team of leaders at First Baptist Church Woodway. Doris is an amazing leader and did a beautiful job making sure all the big and little details were taken care of. There were 16 co-host churches that worked together to bring this kingdom-minded event to Waco. That is a lot to coordinate!

Everyone in Waco was sweet, kind and generous… such a pleasure to partner with.

We also had a surprise visit Saturday morning from Theresa Wiggins. Theresa was our National Conference Director when Fresh Grounded Faith began 8 years ago. She had to resign due to health reasons, so it was a sweet surprise and blessing to reconnect with her.

God showed up big time at FGF.  Meredith Andrews sang down Heaven and it filled the room and each woman’s heart. And, then, Stormie Omartian brought such encouragement through her words. One of my favorite lines from Stormie was, “Forgiveness doesn’t make the other person right, it makes you free!” Yes indeed. Preach it, Stormie!

But, what pumps me up most is how God pulled women from despair into hope; from death into life! 9 beautiful women came to new life in Christ! Welcome home, sisters! Hallelujah! There were also 88 Fresh Starts – women who chose to renew their commitment to Christ!

In addition, there were 86 children rescued from poverty in Jesus’ name because some amazing Texas women sponsored them through Compassion International. Way to go ladies!

Oh, thank You, Lord, for drawing us together in Waco and thank You, Lord, for drawing us all to You. Amen!

We would love to hear from you!
