Have you ever walked into a room where you could just feel the joy, and you knew there was some kind of happy buzz among all the people around you? Well, if you were at Fresh Grounded Faith in Hattiesburg this past weekend, your answer is a big happy yes!
Girl, the women who attended FGF Hattiesburg were happy, happy, happy! It was deeper than the buzz you get from sweet tea and deeper than the happy that comes from a sunshiny day.
This group was brimming with the joy of the Lord. And that joy made them strong.
It rained most of the weekend, but that was just a picture of how the Holy Spirit rained down at Carterville Baptist Church as Michael O’Brien led us in worship. The women’s voices filled that sanctuary and truly filled my heart with such peace and joy.
Laura Story was so funny and wise. And, of course, when she sang “Blessings,” I regretted not wearing waterproof mascara!
I was so inspired by Tammy Rainey, our local conference coordinator. She was so full of energy and cheer! She really was a picture of Nehemiah 8:10, “the joy of the Lord is your strength!”
We are praising the Lord for our 1 new sister in Christ, the 37 women who chose to renew their commitment to Christ, and the 44 children rescued from poverty through Compassion International!
Thank you again to Carterville Baptist Church, the 8 co-host churches, and the amazing crew of volunteers for making us feel extra loved and welcome.
So, if you are low on strength today, take a cue from these Mississippi Magnolias—ask God for His joy and watch your strength rise!
