Faithfulness on Display – FGF Highlights, Jackson, MS

It was so good to be back in Jackson, Mississippi last week for Fresh Grounded Faith! We were there in 2014 at Broadmoor Baptist Church, and now—nine years later—we got to be at the same host church working alongside many of the same incredible people!

Melinda Hendrix once again served as our wonderful Local Conference Coordinator, and—to no one’s surprise—led this event and her people in such a beautiful way. She is a model of faithfulness, serving the women in her church and community for so many years.

In fact, faithfulness was what I noticed most about FGF Jackson. Here’s what I mean…

The place was packed with over 1,300 women who were there because they wanted to grow in their faith and faithfulness. I was so inspired!

As Michael O’Brien took the stage to lead in worship, I was struck by how we’ve had the privilege to serve together for 14 years. Wow! He, too, is a model of faithfulness, serving God and people with his gifts.

Then there was Lysa TerKeurst. She and I have known each other for almost 20 years after first meeting in a bathroom at a book convention! Since then, we’ve served together through ups and downs, growing together in ministry. Lysa is also a picture of faithfulness.

And then, I must mention Terrie and Jimmy Bitter. Terrie and I have worked together for over 10 years with her serving as our National Conference Director for 8 of those years. That woman never ever wavers in her love for God, His Word, and His girls, and I marvel at how God uses her behind the scenes along with her hard-working husband, Jimmy. What a beautiful picture of quiet, steady faithfulness.

And, speaking of steady faithfulness, Valerie Lawrence, whom we all affectionately call “Air Traffic Control” around our ministry office, joined us for this event too. She does so much that no one ever sees to make FGF happen, and she has done it with excellence for 15 years. Faithfulness for sure.

The faithfulness of these people and so many others stood out to me throughout the weekend, but ultimately, it was God’s faithfulness that was on display at FGF Jackson.

There is no way all those wonderful sisters and brothers I just mentioned could be faithful without the faithfulness of God in their lives. I can’t. You can’t. None of us can.

God is faithfully working through us, and we are faithful only because He is faithful.

So, it was God’s faithfulness that prevailed through those who shared the messages and led us in worship.

It was God’s faithfulness that persevered through those working behind the scenes in preparation for the event.

It was God’s faithfulness that shined through Melinda and the many volunteers and co-host churches who came together to serve the women in their community.

And it was God who faithfully drew women to Himself and to each other as we gathered.

We celebrated 3 women who came to Christ, 71 women who renewed their faith in Him, and 51 children released from poverty in Jesus’ name through Compassion International. Praise the Lord!

God is faithful, my friend, and His faithfulness was clearly on display at FGF Jackson.

Great is His faithfulness!

Blessings,

Jennifer and the FGF Team!
