She Stayed and Prayed – FGF Highlights, Topeka, KS

Fellowship Bible Church was buzzing with joy when I arrived for Fresh Grounded Faith Topeka on Friday night. I met lots of eager and encouraging women, but I gotta say, one woman stood out to me right away…

Her name was Liesa, and she told me she had been praying and was planning to stay in that church all night on Friday to keep praying. So, when Terrie Bitter, our National Conference Director, arrived at the church early on Saturday morning, she ran into a very tired Liesa.

Liesa told her how she and several other women stayed and prayed all throughout the night. They were praying that God would bring revival to the women of their city that weekend. And sister, they prayed Heaven down into that place for sure because Saturday morning—just like Friday night—was extraordinarily powerful.

But the most memorable part of Liesa’s all-night prayer vigil was what she told Terrie that morning. She said, “When I went to drive home this morning to get ready for Saturday, I had so much anointing oil on my hands that my hands kept slipping off the steering wheel!”

Ha! I love that!!

May we all be so committed to prayer—so anointed with the Holy Spirit and the oil of gladness—that we are downright slippery too! And because of the goodness of God and the prayers of many like Liesa, the Lord did show up big time.

He taught us through Angela Thomas Pharr that we can run our races with endurance.

He shined through Meredith Andrews in every song and gave us a million reminders of what He has done and how we can keep trusting and praising Him.

He showed up through the book of Amos as I taught that we can live faithful and humble, no matter what we face.

It was an amazing weekend, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.

I want to give a huge thanks to Heidi Norton, our Local Conference Coordinator, and to the wonderful people at Fellowship Bible Church for hosting the event. They worked alongside several co-host churches and volunteers in the area who came together to reach others in their community.

It’s through their faithfulness that we got to see the Lord work in the hearts of women who attended, and my friend, He was definitely on the move…

We celebrated 6 new sisters in Christ, 39 women who chose to renew their commitments to Christ, and 58 children rescued from poverty through Compassion International! Praise the Lord!

I loved spending the weekend with my sweet sisters in Topeka, watching the Lord provide and reminding me—yet again—that He is faithful. Our time together may have come to a close, but you can be certain that the Spirit of the Lord is still at work in Topeka … and in your community too.

Blessings,

Jennifer and the FGF Team!
