Kelly shares the unlikely Bible character she most relates to, and then both Kelly and Michael reveal their (very funny) most embarrassing moments. We’ll also give some helpful advice to moms of teenage sons, and you’ll learn how to take a “fiction vacation.”
It was so good to be back in Jackson, Mississippi last week for Fresh Grounded Faith! We were there in 2014 at Broadmoor Baptist Church, and now—nine years later—we got to be at the same host church working alongside many of the same incredible people!
Melinda Hendrix once again served as our wonderful Local Conference Coordinator, and—to no one’s surprise—led this event and her people in such a beautiful way. She is a model of faithfulness, serving the women in her church and community for so many years.
In fact, faithfulness was what I noticed most about FGF Jackson. Here’s what I mean…
Who sang that great old song, “Just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind”? When I got home from Fresh Grounded Faith Cumming, that song came to mind as I kept reminiscing about the weekend.
That’s because there were many sweet songs and echoes of sweet moments at First Redeemer Church that keep Georgia on my mind.
Of course I had to refer to that most famous movie quote associated with the great city of Houston! Because, sister, we did have a problem. One big dark problem!
After the first part of our Fresh Grounded Faith conference ended on Friday night, Laura Story, Michael O’Brien, Terrie Bitter (our National Conference Director), and Phil and I went back to our hotel. But it was pitch black.

It was such a great weekend at Fresh Grounded Faith Melbourne. For this Florida girl, it was especially fun being with all my Florida friends. Even my high school English teacher was there! And since we were in Phil’s hometown, it was a treat to see a lot of his high school friends too.
