Can I Live My Life With Open Hands? With Laura Story [Episode 18]

Can I Live My Life With Open Hands? [Episode 18 with Laura Story] jpg

About five or six years ago, I went through a season where I struggled with depression, which included insomnia.

One night, I vividly remember sitting in a red chair in our bedroom, trying to pray. Yet, I couldn’t really focus on praying. I knew the Lord was there, but I still felt low and empty.

The radio was on, and it was then that I heard a song that touched me in a way nothing else could. It was “Blessings” by Laura Story.

The women in Shelbyville were unshakeable! Together, we dropped our gravel strength and leaned hard on the Rock who is Christ—and you can be sure we weren’t disappointed! God did great things!

Girl, the women who attended FGF Hattiesburg were happy, happy, happy! It was deeper than the buzz you get from sweet tea and deeper than the happy that comes from a sunshiny day.

Big Hearts, Big State, Big Blessings – FGF Highlights Pasadena, TX

“Hey Ya’ll!”  That was what was painted all cute and crafty on a big burlap bag in my hotel room when I arrived in Pasadena for our last Fresh Grounded Faith of this year. What a way to be welcomed, and what a way to wind up a great seasonI tell you, that bag was bigger than I was, but, what did I expect?  Everything really is bigger in Texas!  That meant the blessings were big, too.

Sand in My Shoes and Joy in My Heart – FGF Highlights, Tampa Bay, FL

It was so fun being back in Florida — I grew up in that great state and I still have sand in my shoes!  The breeze was balmy and the women were as warm as that Florida sunshine. It was so sweet to be with old friends from college and family and dear women who I served with in ministry during the big hair days! God was with us.

Just Like Home – FGF Highlights, Abilene, TX

I love those Texas women… they make me want to trade in my tennis shoes for cowboy boots! But, not sure cowboy boots would look so good with my yoga pants! We were with a great big bunch of friends — such love and safety in that place. Just real women being real with each other.

Spill the beans was so fun with Lisa and Laura — they are both so funny. The best part had to be when Lisa used Phil as her ventriloquist dummy! But, I think he would do most anything for his favorite Mouseketeer.
