One of the things that drives me crazy about getting older is I know there is a lot that I don’t know. Unfortunately, I don’t know what I don’t know! Can you relate? But one of the things that makes me really really happy about getting older is realizing that knowledge is not nearly as important as wisdom. And sisters, wisdom has nothing to do with what we know or don’t know, and everything to do with Who we do know!
God is not greedy with His wisdom. If you need it, He’ll give it. Here are three surefire ways to make wisdom your BFF.
I’ve been on the phone, and on my knees, a lot lately because I have some friends that are really struggling. Health issues, relationship hurts, financial worries, and just plain stress seem to be epidemics in my little part of the world.
Can you relate? Oh, I bet you can.
I want to help lift them up out of their despair, fear, or disappointment. But, in and of myself, I can’t. That is God’s deal and I know He will.
All I can do is pray and encourage them.
While I was trying to encourage them, it dawned on me… no matter who I am talking to, and no matter what their problem may be, my encouragement seems the same.
Wanna know what it is?
It’s way simple because life is too complicated for encouragement to require an instruction manual!
Me and my Dr. Phil, with Caroline and her Clayton. One of the happiest days of my life!
If there is one phrase I have heard from my Dr. Phil over and over in the last 27 years, it’s this: “I’m a simple man.”
It took me two decades to finally get it. Over the years, I assumed he was more complicated than he actually was. I assumed he meant something he didn’t, either with his silence or his words. Basically, I just didn’t really get it. I didn’t understand how simple men can be.
Girls, men are just wired a little differently than we are.
