Can I Own My Everyday Influence? With Bobi Ann Allen [Episode 187]

Own Everyday Influence Bobi Ann Allen

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others but feel inadequate to the task? Or perhaps you believe the influence you could have is stifled by your everyday responsibilities. Well, believe it or not, you have incredible influence, and today you’ll learn how that’s true.

Author Bobi Ann Allen joins me on the 4:13 Podcast and shares that when you view your life through the lens of leadership, it turns the mundane into meaningful and the small into significant. She’ll help you see that you do have influence, and that influence is tied to your identity in Christ.

All Because of Jesus – FGF Highlights, Shreveport, LA

Let me tell you about my new friend, Maggie, who I met at Fresh Grounded Faith Shreveport. After I called her on stage, Maggie bounded up those stairs like a teenager and stood right beside me with a microphone as the audience cheered.

“Maggie?” I asked in front of the hundreds of women who filled Cypress Baptist Church, “How old are you?”

She turned and looked straight into the eyes of those eager women and said, “94!” And then she hooped and hollered, and so did everyone else.

I asked her how she did it. I wanted to know to what does she attribute her joy and vigor at the age of 94. And as you can imagine, every woman was listening intently.

There’s a Sweet Sweet Spirit – FGF Highlights, Austin, TX

As Fresh Grounded Faith Austin came to an end on Saturday, the room was filled with beautiful voices singing the hymn “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” by Doris Mae Akers. It was the perfect summary of our time together—so much so that you would’ve thought we planned this. But, we didn’t plan it at all! In fact, here’s the reason we ended with that song…

No Plan B With God – FGF Highlights, Beaumont, TX

I’ve always believed that God only operates with Plan A. He knows all things and there are no surprises to Him, so that means there is no Plan B with God.

Even when our plans get twisted, God is still doing His thing. Even when it seems like everything is falling apart, God is still in control. And even when we don’t know what’s next, we know God is making our path straight as we trust in Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).

So, when we have to make changes and come up with what we call a “Plan B,” it’s still God’s Plan A! And that’s exactly what Fresh Grounded Faith Beaumont was—God’s Plan A! In fact, I would call it God’s Plan A+!

Memphis was one of many conferences rescheduled from 2020, and it was such a huge blessing to finally be with those amazing women!

I told the volunteers at the Meet and Greet that this weekend was God’s Plan A! Even though we may have thought it was Plan B since the event had been postponed, God only has Plan A’s!

Open up the windows, let the light in
Open up the windows, let the light in
Open up the windows, let the light in
Let the light in, Let the light in

Jo Dee Messina sang that prayer on Saturday, and it caught on! We were all singing it, praying it, and—to be honest—we all experienced it. God opened up the windows of our souls, and His light poured in!
