Girl, You Sparkle! How to Look Radiant

He seemed like such a sweet guy, but it got kind of awkward when he came to our table five different times to tell us we glowed.

Yes, glowed. He said we glowed.

He was our server and as he handed us our menus, he paused, cleared his throat and acted like he had just been struck by lightning! “I just have to stop and tell you that you glow. If nobody has ever told you, I am telling you now, you have this glow about you.”

Now, if Moses had been sitting there with us at lunch, the server’s obsession with our glow would have made more sense. (Exodus 34:29-35) But, it was just us! My friend Callen and I giggled but he interrupted and told us he was totally serious.

Unified Women of God — FGF Highlights, Springfield, IL

Oh girls. What a weekend! These past several weeks have been such a whirlwind, but wow. Last weekend we were in Springfield, IL for Fresh Grounded Faith, and those ladies? So sweet, so unified, so ready to step in and step up and serve and worship. Such a blessing!

I can’t say it enough, and especially after all the election stuff, it was so refreshing to witness these women come together in unity for one purpose.

What Blindness Taught Me About Seeing and How You Can See Better Too

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “People only see what they are prepared to see.

How do you see the world?

In this time of fear and darkness and suspicion, it can be easy to see the world as depressing and scary. You watch the news or read the headlines and brace yourself, preparing to see the worst, right? Lots of us feel worried and even disgusted about what is going on in America during this crazy election season, right?

When You Feel Discouraged: A Scripture Pep Talk

It’s so easy to get discouraged, isn’t it? Life hits us hard and trials last too long and we just get worn out trying to stand firm in faith. Or, sometimes we are in the thick of doing good, serving God and it just seems like progress is slow, our confidence is low and discouragement is high.

I’ve felt discouraged for both reasons lately. I’ve felt overwhelmed and under-qualified to rise to the demands of ministry. I’ve fallen into a confidence crisis and just plain felt defeated. And, at the same time, my sweet Dad has been in the hospital, fighting pain and infection. My mom is worn out caring for him and instead of things getting better, they just seem to get worse. As soon as we see some progress, the next day, his fever spikes and our hope deflates. It is just downright discouraging.
