Grace Was Full of Grace – FGF Highlights, St. Louis, MO

Oh, girl, there are just some places that make you say, “Now this place is special!” Do you know what I mean? There’s something different about it, and you can just feel it!

You feel the grace. You feel the love. You feel like you’ve walked into a place where God is welcome and His presence is apparent in each person’s heart.

Well, that’s exactly what I felt at Grace Church this weekend as they hosted Fresh Grounded Faith St. Louis.

We Didn’t Just Call the Hogs – FGF Highlights, Conway, AR

Well, how else could Fresh Grounded Faith Conway, Arkansas begin? Of course, Phil and I had to learn how to call the hogs!

During the meet and greet with conference volunteers, Dawn Moore, our amazing Local Conference Coordinator, taught us how to be a true Arkansas Razorback as we learned the famous cheer. But before that—as I walked into Antioch Baptist Church—I could hear the 115 volunteers singing… “Come Holy Spirit. Come Heavenly Dove. Stay right here with us, filling us with Your love.”

I Love You to the MoonPie and Back – FGF Highlights, Chattanooga, TN

I loved everything about being in Chattanooga! But, I must say, I forgot how much I loved MoonPies until I visited the MoonPie’s hometown this past weekend! Those yummy treats have been baked in Chattanooga at the Chattanooga Bakery since 1917.

And wow, were they good! Those sweet Chattanooga sisters gave me a gift basket with some of those marshmallowy treats, and then after dinner on Friday night, they even served us MoonPies for dessert! It was so fun!

It’s fitting that MoonPies are from Chattanooga because I just love all those women to the moon—or shall I say ‘to the MoonPie’—and back!

It Started with a Cross-Eyed Catfish – FGF Highlights, Grenada, MS

Road trip! Phil and I drove to Fresh Grounded Faith Grenada, and on the way, we stopped in Hardy, Arkansas for dinner.

The place was called the CrossEyed Catfish Café, and girl, those hush puppies and that catfish were as good as my granddaddy’s! And that is the highest compliment! The down-home food set us up perfectly for the family reunion we were about to have with these Mississippi sisters we hadn’t yet met.

You Build More Than You See – FGF Highlights, Gainesville, FL

Sara stood on stage and told the crowd of women in Gainesville what happened over 30 years ago. She described how she was a young atheist who attended a Christian college. She explained how a young man, who was a few years older than she was, told her about Christ. She even recounted how vivid her memory was of the very place where one of their conversations took place—it was a place she remembered because it was a conversation she would never forget.
